Saving energy on the farm? Tell us how you're saving energy and you could win a solar tank/fence combo (value $600) courtesy of Solar Scape Innovations Inc.
Going green at the barn ... what a novel idea! While everyday we go about our daily chores do we really think about what we could do to make our equine lifestyle more sustainable and earth-friendly?
Well, now's your chance to give it a go!
Toronto CADORA is pleased to host a contest to highlight member efforts to “go green” at the barn.
First prize: Promotional printing services (value $400) courtesy of Broadcast Events
Second prize: Corn Cob Bedding (12 bags — enough to bed two stalls for a one-month trial period.) courtesy of Advantage Products
Third prize: Farrier consultation plus two trims courtesy of Craig Petterson
What innovative things are you doing to save energy; reclaim and refurbish old buildings; keep garbage out of the landfills; recycle old equipment? What “recycle, reduce, and reuse” efforts are you taking to make your equestrian activities greener and more environmentally-friendly?
Tell us your stories, tips and experiences -- even send us your photos -- during HorseWeek 2010 and you could win one of three great prizes. This is your chance to share your green success stories and help inspire and motivate fellow club members to do the same.
Simply submit your entry to tcinfo@torontocadora.com, describing in detail what you are doing at your barn to “go green.” The three most innovative entries will each receive a prize. All eligible entries will be published in a special section on this website after the contest closes so we can learn from each other.
To be eligible entries must:
be submitted by a Toronto CADORA member
include a full description of your barn’s green practice(s), including photos, if available
include the name of your barn and a contact person’s name and email address so we can follow up and perhaps do a complete interview for the website.
** Entries must be received between May 29 and June 6 to be considered.**
