Welcome to Toronto CADORA! Toronto CADORA's focus continues to be on education, since only through education can we hope to achieve the heights of desired accomplishment and fulfill our dreams. To this end we are excited to offer fun and informative educational opportunities through clinics and seminars, etc. and an enlightened perspective of horsemanship and showmanship to our members, and beyond. As a grass roots organization we are dedicated to educating about all aspects of dressage, including sound and horse-friendly training and management practices.
This is a fun-loving group of classical riding enthusiasts with a desire to learn and improve our relationships with our horses both on the ground and in the tack. Our focus is on horse-friendly training methods -- the tried and the true of the masters of old, as introduced to Canada 40 years ago by our club's founder, Christilot Boylen, and the proven insight of the new -- all in an attempt to foster the development of the happy horse in his work. To this end a volunteer executive team organizes a number of events throughout the year and promotes products and services, which we feel help to meet our education-focused and horse-friendly mandate. The club's goal is to help those dedicated to the sport and art of dressage find joy and have fun in an endeavour that can often be taken all too seriously. We extend our programs to those from other disciplines because we understand that the foundation for equestrian success is built on sound knowledge of the basics as taught in the classical riding system -- the basis for all good and effective riding. To illustrate this intent, we have included a "Training Pyramid" diagram on every page of the website to act as a reminder of the six building blocks to classical training of the dressage horse. Please refer to it often and make it a part of your regular training program. We would like to thank the United States Dressage Federation (USDF) for giving us permission to reproduce this valuable training tool on our website and in our publications.
And finally, to increase our presence in the greater dressage community we have established groups on both Barnmice, founded by Toronto CADORA member Barb Fogler, and Facebook. So, check us out there too, start discussions, get to know one another and keep up with the buzz. We look forward to seeing you there and at future Toronto CADORA events.
